Over MEA break the Woodbury High School marching band went on an incredible trip to Orlando Florida and represented our school as they marched through Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the “Festival of Fantasy” parade. Not only did the Marching Royals walk along the same route as the beloved Disney characters such as Queen Elsa from Frozen and Woody from Toy story, but they also received the “Golden Mickey” award for an outstanding performance. But the Marching Royals didn’t stop there; they also met and march for the Melbourne High School marching band. Mel High is an extremely accomplished marching band that competes once a year, usually taking home multiple awards (this year receiving nine) The drum major of the Mel High marching band stated that he was “Very impressed with the talent that the Woodbury Marching band brought to the field.” The crowd roared with excitement as the royals marched their field show for the very last time with every ounce of pride they had left. This year was a year of many accomplishments for the marching royals and they were thrilled to take it all the way to Florida to spread the royal spirit. Congratulations on an amazing season royals, you should be proud.
